Bakers Bend

The Bakers Bends is a scenic tourist spot located in the beautiful Belihuloya Nanperial Estate in the Ratnapura District of the sabaragamuwa Province. It’s located at the foothills of the Horton Plains .It’s about 5,000 feet above sea level. As the Bakers Bend is located in the Nanperial Estate, you’ll need to get permission from the estate office and walk up.

It gets its name from the fact that Mr. Bakers, who discovered Little England or Nuwara Eliya in Sri Lanka, slipped on his horse and fell to his death with his horse.

It’s a little complicated to get permission to go to these Bakers Bends, but most of them say its a journey to the heaven because of the beauty of the surroundings as well as the size of the waterfalls. The journey to Bakers Bend is not complicated. The bends we meet in this Nanperial area are numbered. Baker’s Bend is the 23rd such bend. The number of waterfalls you’ll come across on the way here is huge but unfortunately they are unknown for the most. while you go to the Bakers Bends, you can see the beautiful butterflies flying over here and there and the best day to visit there is on a fog free day so that you can also see the beautiful Nagrak Bungalow above. I assure that your trip would be a pleasant experience and also a memorable once.
